The NCSTA meet format was a huge hit amongst the fans and spectators. Comments revolved around the more exciting and athletic representation of the athletes and the sport. Coach Delaney said, "No other sport comes out from an unseen warm up room and then only performs for 2.5 minutes against 50 to 100's of other teams. The NCSTA format takes the most athletic elements of the sport and molds them into a meet format consistent with what fans and athletes expect in every other sporting venue."
As the meet progressed fans got more and more into yelling and supporting their favorite teams and athletes. "The various events and rounds gave fans a chance to truly compare teams even if they aren't knowledgeable about the sport. The head to head back to back performances really brought out the best in the athletes that were competing, " said OSU Asst. Head Coach, Ashley Perkins.
This coming weekend the team will travel to Atlanta, GA where they will compete in a more traditional cheerleading format, but will return home for two weeks before traveling to compete in another NCSTA style meet hosted by the University of Oregon against OSU, Azusa Pacific and University of Georgia's all girl teams.
