CONGRATULATIONS home
2nd
place, 2008 NCA College Cheer and Dance Championships
![]() | With
the 4th overall highest raw score, the team had an opportunity to move up to 4th
place in finals with a clean and solid routine. We made some adjustments to correct
the mistakes from preliminaries! On the finals mat, the team hit a very clean routine with no falls or tumbling touches. We had a bobble in the pyramid and one of the stunts in the second sequence, but not any actual falls. When the score was announced, we took over being leaders in the division. We watched as the next teams ahead of us in the standings performed. |
Each to come was more and more talented, but each kept making major mistakes. As the scores kept being announced, we kept hearing those sweet words........"the leader in All Girl Div. I remains The Ohio State University." Finally, the two time defending champs Univ. of Maryland edged us out by three hundredths of a point. Only the first place team from preliminaries, Univ. of Louisville-former 5-time champ, was left to perform. They made mistakes and opened the door that the Buckeyes jumped right through to 2nd place. | ![]() |
In addition to moving up to 2nd place from 6th(prelims), the team won the Div. I All Girl "Innovative Choreography" award. Coach Joey Delaney was the creative mind behind the routine along with help from James Warner (former OSU cheerleader) who choreographed the majority of the dance. Congratulations once again to team and everyone who was a part of making everything happen. It was a challenge to get here with loosing our tickets on Skybus, but we made it down and made lemonade from lemons! Congratulations also to the Ohio State Dance team who also had their program's highest finish at Nationals in 3rd place! Go Bucks! | |
