8th Place at CheerSport!
February 5-7, 2010
CheerSport Nationals
Atlanta, GA
| 6am flight from Columbus to Atlanta. No one wants to fly that early, but it worked out great that the team beat the weather and made it to Georgia with no problems. The College All Girl division featured 4 Div I varsity status women's competitive cheer teams along with several other teams from our division at NCA College Nationals. Stiff competition so early in the season. |

Saturday the team had a great warm up and was excited to take the floor in this season's first traditional cheer competition. With such a young team, the coaching staff was concerned about the pressure and nerves of the freshman and younger members. When it was time to take the floor, the focus was there and the team had a solid performance on the first day with regard to all their stunting skills. The only issues were with tumbling. Saturday evening brough on a few decisions to change the tumbling issues and have us ready for a better and near mistake-free performance on Sunday. Sunday seemed to just be a repeat of Satuday's great warm up. The team was focus and ready to build on a better performance than the day before. With our tumbling issues corrected, the coaching staff expected improvement as well. Unfortunately, the music started and right off the bat, things seemed to go the wrong way. |
Several mistakes later, the team was able to hold onto a good enough performance to finish 8th in our division. The team will get back to work on Monday to prepare for the next competition which is an NCSTA meet in Eugene, OR against the University of Oregon Women's Competitive Stunts and Gymnastics team. |
